This is the first site I have made and am very limited interms of development skill, for example I have installed everything and there is no cart or checkout displayed on my default page. Would the installation of this template provide the cart and checkout like the demo or do I have to make modifications?

We are thinking about purchasing the Prestashop 35378 theme. Currently our webshop runs on prestashop 1.3 so an update to 1.4 will be necessary first. Will all information from our current shop be lost if we update to this template?
